Dear Members and Friends

I would like to invite you to a conference hosted by Bristol International Twinnings Association, at which we will discuss the role of twinning and city partnerships in today's world.   People involved in twinning are coming from the wider south-west region from Portsmouth to Cheltenham, and we look forward to exchanging views, experiences and ideas for the future.  The conference will take place on Wednesday 29th April at City Hall Bristol, and I attach the conference agenda, which I hope you will find helpful.  I am aware that it is a lot to pack into one day, and so we will need to be quite well organised to keep to the timetable, though I realise there may be a little bit of slippage here and there. 

Due to the good offices of our Twinnings Officer, Zoe Gibbons, we are able to have the accommodation at City Hall without any payment, and so the only cost will be the refreshments.  These will be provided by the Council caterers, and will consist of coffee/tea on arrival, a sandwich lunch, and coffee/tea for the afternoon break.  This will cost £20 per person, and this is to be transferred in advance of the conference please to the BITA Santander Account as below:

The handcrafted sandwiches will have meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan fillings, but please indicate if you have any allergies which we need to communicate to the caterers.

Finally, this invitation has gone to other city partnerships in our region and indeed beyond, if you have contacts elsewhere who would be interested in coming - please do not feel that only 'committee members' are the addressees of this invitation.  But please let me know you are coming and that you have made the bank payment by Monday 13th April, so that we can order the refreshments appropriately.

I have indicated on the programme that we would be happy to organise dinner together in the evening for anyone wishing to stay on longer or even overnight.
